LUCIUS'
pedigree is jam packed with some some of the finest bloodlines in Europe. His sire LEHNDORFF comes from the excellent
Hanoverian bloodlines of the Celle state stallion LUGANO I.LEHNDORFF'S maternal grandsire
is the legendary FURIOSO II who is
regarded as the stallion of the century in modern Oldenburg breeding. PRECIPITATION XX is also found in
LUCIUS'
pedigree. Many of his descendants have become World-Class Sport horses such as:
Do Countain(grand prix jumper), For The Moment(grand prix jumper), Melton
Mowbray (jumper), Wily Trout(British Olympic dressage horse) and Big Ben
(Olympic grand prix jumper).
LUCIUS' dam was a Hanoverian mare Abigail who was by the stallion ADLERFARN I. He was one of the first refinement stallions to stand at stud in Celle. ADLERFARN I sired many outstanding competition horses such as ANSWER, a world cup winner ridden by Hugo Simon.
Also, on his dam side,
LUCIUS carries the blood of Wendekreis, Ferro & Der Loewe. Wendekreis has produced numerous top level jumpers and dressage horses and carries the blood of both Ferdinand and Domspatz well known for producing rideable horses with excellent trainability.
Der Löewe stood at the Hanoverian stud at Grossenworden at the age of 7, to begin his breeding career. His breeding career spanned 20 years, during which time he produced 6 state stallions, 158 registered mares, as well as 314 competition horses who earned winning of DM750,000.
In his career, Der Löewe produced many international-caliber sport horses, known for their expressive movement. Show jumpers included Der Lord and Loriot, both ridden by Hartwig Steenken. In eventing, Löwenstern was very successful with Nils Haagensen. He also sired dressage horses such as Karin Schlüter's Liostro, Erika Scharzkopf's Löwenherz, Carola Lampe's Lanthan, Holger& Inge Schmezers' Lady Lou, Hans-Jürgen Armbrust's Leopardin, Marjolyn Greeve's Lucky Boy, John Winnett's and Leopardi.
Perhaps most known were Lugano I and Lugano II, full-brothers sired by Der Lowe. Lugano I sired good dressage horses, as well as superb show jumpers. Lugano II produced the stallion Lombard, making him grand-sire to Lanthan and Leubus.
LUCIUS'
dynamic expression he exhibits in all three gaits and his marvelous rideability make him a very easy stallion to work with and around.
LUCIUS is an elegant, modern warmblood with lovely fluid movement. Truly a pleasure to own.
